ANITA 2027 workshop and summer school
A week of theoretical astrophysics in the Swinburne Virtual Universe (room ATC103) at Swinburne University of Technology: a hands-on summer school on AI for astrophysics, followed by the 21st annual ANITA science workshop.

AI for Astrophysics Summer School
A 2.5-day hands-on school on using AI assistants and coding agents well in astronomy research: how the models work, how to direct them, and above all how to check their work. Mornings are talks; afternoons are a guided lab and team projects.
For 30 astronomers, mainly PhD students to senior postdocs (others welcome to apply). No experience with AI tools is required. Every participant receives a one-month Claude Pro subscription.
21st ANITA Science Workshop
The annual ANITA workshop reviews theoretical astrophysics in Australia, fosters collaboration and builds the community of theoretical astrophysicists. All topics in theoretical astrophysics are covered, and early career researchers are particularly encouraged to contribute talks.
Students giving talks are eligible for the J-P Macquart Best Student Talk Prize.
